$175.00

Date: 01/25/2025

Time: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Although Photoshop is powerful enough for the pros, it offers many options and opportunities for the digital enthusiast. Join Corey Hilz for a full day of hands on Photoshop training geared towards the new or limited experience Photoshop user.

This class focuses on the features of Photoshop that are useful for photographers and you’ll learn skills that enable will you to use the program confidently and effectively. Corey will also share plenty of tips and tricks to save you time and make using Photoshop easier. Even if you find Photoshop complicated this class is designed to take away the mystery and make it easy to understand.

The class begins with an introduction to the Photoshop workspace and then explores techniques that only Photoshop offers, such as layers, masks, selections and creating composites. Photoshop’s most exciting techniques require the use of layers so ample time is spent explaining how they operate and why you would want to use them.

Corey also gives an overview of how images travel between Lightroom and Photoshop as part of your overall workflow.

Class topics include:

•    Layers and Adjustment Layers
•    Using Masks for selective adjustments
•    Retouching tools
•    Creating and using selections
•    Creating simple composites
•    Brushes (effective use of size, hardness, opacity and flow)
•    Non-destructive color and tone adjustment
•    Skin softening techniques
•    Blending two exposures of the same composition

NOTE: This class is taught on student’s own laptops loaded with Photoshop.

This class does not cover Photoshop Elements.

Pre-requisite: Comfort with basic computer skills such as locating, opening and saving files.

What to bring: Your laptop with Photoshop installed.

What People Are Saying About Corey

“I’ve done enough photo workshops to know that some instructors are good in the field while others are good in the classroom. Corey is outstanding in both!”

“In the classroom, Corey’s teaching is methodical and logical. He shows you how to make the most of the digital darkroom with the software that you have. Corey is a natural teacher.”

“I completed the Lightroom in a Day class with Corey Hilz today.  This class far exceeded my expectations.  I was admittedly skeptical of the long list of topics to be covered in one day but Corey is a gifted instructor and he presented a large amount of technically complex materials in a very easy to understand clear, concise, and coherent in manner.”
